Everyone else gets a normal life. The supposed genius gets a dark corner of the frame, an IQ counter that won't stop climbing, and imaginary apples doing laps around his skull. That contradiction is the joke behind IQmaxx Wojak Edits, a video format that spread across TikTok and Instagram Reels in late September and early October 2026.

Wojaks are the internet's endlessly remixed sad-face characters. In these edits, several versions occupy a familiar place—a classroom, a party, or somewhere people are simply getting on with life. Then the camera zooms to a barely visible, withered Wojak. He's assigned the biggest IQ by far. He's also the one lying alone on the floor, in a basement, or in an even stranger hiding spot. The stat sheet says “winner”; the scene says otherwise.

So what's with the fruit? Online discussions about picturing an apple in your mind, and mentally rotating shapes, fed a running gag in which imagining more spinning apples supposedly means greater intelligence. It's part of the meme's absurd scoring system, not a scientific intelligence test. Your brain doesn't gain an IQ point every time an apple completes a rotation.

Know Your Meme documents a classroom edit posted on September 28 as one of the earliest known examples, while noting that the exact origin is uncertain. Later versions hid the “genius” underground, underwater, and above a train. The farther the camera travels to find him, the funnier the brag becomes. The punchline isn't that intelligence is bad: it's that being obsessed with a giant number doesn't automatically give you a good life.
