As of October 13, 2026. No story spoilers. Haunted by Daylight isn't cancelled. What's gone in 2026 is the separate Void Realm you used to step into through Rifts. Event coverage puts the dates at October 13 through November 3.

So why do people care? Behaviour's official 2023 guide explained it: you collected Void Energy, opened a Rift, and ended up somewhere else entirely. No gens. No pallets. One second you're running from the Killer, the next you're on a weird little sightseeing trip.

This year, Rifts stick around but go somewhere new. According to an October 4 report, they now work as portals between spots on the normal Trial map. So it's not "everything Void is deleted." You just don't leave the map anymore.

Fans did notice. In an October 12 Reddit thread, someone asked if the Void had really been removed, and others said they'd miss how it looked. The Halloween fair is open. Your favorite haunted house just isn't.

Some players think it clashed with other mechanics on the technical side. That's a guess from fans, not a reason the developers have confirmed. Nobody has said whether it comes back in 2027 or is gone for good.

Short version: the event's on, the portals are in. The side trip to the Void is off this year.
