A small Roblox game does not vanish just because the new age-based accounts arrive. But some players may lose access to it. Kids and Select accounts put extra conditions on which experiences appear for people under 16.
Roblox announced the change on April 13, 2026, with a planned early-June rollout. Kids accounts cover ages 5–8 and select eligible Minimal or Mild experiences. Select accounts cover ages 9–15 and can include games rated up to Moderate. Roblox said age-checked players 16 and older would see no change from this account update.
Why quiet games are a special worry
To enter the under-16 catalogs, an experience needs more than a suitable theme. The announced review includes creator ID verification, two-step verification, an active Roblox Plus subscription, ongoing assessment, and the game's content rating. A perfectly friendly little game might therefore face a gate before it reaches its younger audience.
In a June 4 Reddit discussion, a player worried that games with roughly 1,900 concurrent players or fewer could lose the people who kept their servers alive. Another user said they were reluctant to provide a face scan or ID and feared losing access to favorite horror experiences. These are specific reactions, not evidence of a platform-wide player collapse.
What to check before saying goodbye
Look at your account's age category, the experience's rating, and any parent-managed permissions. Roblox says parents can approve individual games that a child's account does not normally offer. Availability and age rules can vary by region.
The real question isn't only whether a game still exists; it's whether the usual group can still enter together. An empty server and a deleted game can feel similar on a Friday night, even though they are very different problems.
