Description: The JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run anime is releasing 11 episodes across its second and third stages in fall 2026. A supposed 2028 finale comes from a leaked schedule, not a confirmed Netflix timetable.

Netflix and the Japanese production team have not announced a 2028 finale date as of October 16, 2026. What they have confirmed is an 11-episode run covering the 2nd and 3rd STAGE, with one episode arriving every Friday from September 25, 2026.[1][2]

Why do fans keep mentioning 2028?

A purported release calendar circulated among JoJo fans before the weekly rollout was announced. It proposed additional installments in June and October 2027, followed by a final group in May 2028. Because part of the prediction resembles the subsequent 2026 announcement, it has gained attention. Matching one announcement, however, does not authenticate the rest of a leaked calendar.[3]

In an October 4 Reddit thread, one viewer reconsidered the gaps between proposed batches and argued they might be manageable. Another questioned whether the short interval between two rumored 2027 releases was realistic for animation production. Those are documented individual reactions, not a poll of the fandom.[3]

Are there only 11 episodes in the whole adaptation?

No: 11 is the count for the announced 2nd-and-3rd-STAGE release, not a stated series-wide episode total. The 1st STAGE debuted as a 47-minute special on March 19. The new episodes began September 25 and are distributed weekly on Netflix. Depending on the interface, look for the separate “2nd & 3rd STAGE” selection.[1][2]

The story follows Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli through a cross-country horse race in 1890s America. As the route reaches the feared Devil's Palm, the competition begins to reveal dangers that go well beyond finishing first. That is the material the official description highlights for this stretch.[1]

What would settle the question?

Watch for an official announcement naming the next stage, its episode count and its start date. Until then, any 2027 or 2028 dates should be treated as predictions, even when a fan-made chart looks impressively precise.

Bottom line: fall 2026's 11 episodes are real; a 2028 ending remains a rumor. The race is underway, but someone has drawn the finish line on the calendar before the organizers have placed it on the track.
