Checked October 13, 2026. No spoilers. If a Kit you bought in The Sims 4 Marketplace shows as “not owned” in the EA app, it doesn't mean you lost it, so don't buy it again yet. An EA community manager said the in-game Marketplace and the EA app are two separate stores. Open the game and look under Marketplace → My Collection first.
Here's the situation. You pay with Moola, drop the new sofa into your Sim's living room, then open the EA app and it offers to sell you that same sofa. It feels like being charged twice for one couch, but the two stores simply keep separate lists. The Marketplace opened in March 2026 and sells Kits as well as creator-made Maker Packs.
This worried real players. One person on EA's forum said several Kits worked in the game but weren't marked as owned in the EA app's DLC list, and asked whether reinstalling would make them vanish. Another player said the app kept showing a buy button for something they already had. An EA community manager answered that the stores showing different things doesn't take away your access to the Kit. EA's official guide, updated October 5, also confirms that Kits are bought with Moola in the Marketplace.
What if the Kit is missing from My Collection too, or won't work? That's a different problem. Some players have recently reported that Maker Packs they paid for disappeared after an update, but nobody has shown that every case has the same cause. Make sure you're signed in to the right account, look at your purchase record, and contact EA Support if the item is still missing.
Short answer: no, don't rebuy a Kit just because the EA app says “not owned.” Check My Collection in the game first.
